Positioned at the top of Saunton beach on the Devon coast, the Saunton Break Café has everything you need for a pit-stop to recharge and refuel.

Perfect for a snack, a hot or a cold drink, or just a sit down after a long walk, jog, or a full day on the beach, the Saunton Break Café is a traditional beach establishment with both indoor and outside seating, so you can enjoy it whatever the weather.

Light dishes and snacks

Although it’s named as a café, the Saunton Break Café offers a lot more than just traditional cakes and ice creams (although, these are on the menu).

Choose from award-winning pasties, chips, burgers, hot dogs and paninis, as well a breakfast menu for those early risers, too. If you have enough room, try and fit in one of the sausage rolls, you certainly won’t regret it.

There’s a hefty list suitable for vegetarians too, so you can tuck in no matter if you’re a meat eater or not.

When it comes to ice cream, there’s a whole host of different flavours available, from traditional, locally-made ice creams, to the branded variety. Feeling the heat? You can also cool down with one of the ice lollies on offer, just make sure you finish it before it melts!

Drinks

Being on the beach all day or enjoying a walk across the nearby coastal cliffs is thirsty work, and the Saunton Break Café has a delightful drinks menu to help you hydrate.

From hot chocolates and freshly-brewed coffees and teas to keep you toasty in the winter, to cold, refreshing juices and soft drinks on a hot summer day; it has everything to suit all ages and tastes.

If you’ve been hitting the waves (Saunton beach is a popular surfing spot), treat yourself to one of the café’s famous Thickshakes – super creamy and delicious, it’s a real decadent choice, but great if you’ve already worked up an appetite.

The reviews for Saunton Break Café speak highly of the friendly service and the fact that it’s great value for money when it comes to the variety of food and drink.

There’s, of course, plenty of emphasis on the locally-sourced ice cream (Kelly’s, if you were wondering), which comes in loads of different flavours, one of the more unusual being blackcurrant.

There’s also plenty of designated parking space, so you can leave the car here if you’re off to the beach for the day, or a walk in one of the neighbouring areas, and come back to have a quick ice cream or drink before you head off again. As well as parking, being next to the slipway of the beach means it’s good for those who need disability access in the form of a ramp.

So, whether you’ve had a long hot day at the beach or enjoyed a blustery wintery walk, the Saunton Break Café has everything you need to relax and recharge whilst taking in some of the best views in Devon.
