If you love a world wide famous Devonish Cream Tea, do not go any further than May Cottage Tea Rooms, it has to be on your list of things to do in Croyde. We have done a lot of cream tea research  in Croyde Village and this is, hands down, the winner.

Head up St Mary’s Road from the Post Office and May Cottage Tea Rooms is on the left. It’s a gorgeous old thatched building with a traditional cottage garden with a vast array of colourful flowers with seating outside as well as inside.

The crumbly scones, which are freshly made everyday, are served with amazing homemade jams and delicious Devon clotted cream. All washed down with good English tea served in china tea cups. I have had both the Devon Cream Tea and also the savoury Cream Tea which is a homemade cheese scone, homemade chutney and whipped cream cheese – equally as mouthwatering.

In Devon, the scones are split in two and topped with cream followed by jam.

If you’re not a Cream Tea lover, then you won’t be disappointed as there is a huge variety of delicious homemade cakes, soups and sandwiches.

Why not be spoiled by Caroline and her lovely team and enjoy what May Cottage Tea Rooms have to offer –  you won’t come across a better treat.
