North Devon is the ultimate destination for any enthusiastic foodie, and Croyde is no exception, boasting a golden stretch of sandy beach and towering waves that are perfect for catching the surf. When you combine the two, you are always certain to build up an appetite for some top-notch grub, and that’s where Biffen’s Kitchen comes in!
Studded within the Ocean Pitch Campsite overlooking shoreline, the seemingly humble Snack Shack is the headquarters of a taste revolution that’s sent delighted customers scrambling to Trip Advisor. Don’t just take our word for it; in just six short months we’ve been voted the number one place to eat in Croyde, and one of the top five places to have breakfast in Devon. Alongside this, we have also been awarded the Best Café in Braunton 2019 by Restaurant Guru!
BIFF, BOSH, NOSH!
Handmade on-site, our flavour-packed menu has everything from plant-based treats to hearty meat fixes, including dairy and gluten-free options guaranteed to tantalise your taste buds. Experience a world of colour and zest, choosing from an array of dishes prepared with only the finest locally sourced ingredients, which are kept strictly seasonal to reduce our carbon footprint.
Breakfast and brunchThe early bird catches the waves, so after an adrenaline-fueled start to the day, there’s no greater feeling than kicking back with a slap-up breakfast. Feast like a king with a loaded bap groaning with the freshest egg, smashed avocado, and Portobello mushroom, or opt for the more virtuous, but certainly not lacking in flavour, overnight oats with peanut butter, almonds, and a liberal scattering of desiccated coconut.
Lunch and dinnerOf an evening, our menu is a taste-sensation inspired by surf destinations from around the world, transporting you to the bustling streets of Marrakesh, or into the vibrant centre of a Mexican fiesta. Savour the tangy heat of our awesome Croyde burritos, or tuck into some seriously good Moroccan fare, enjoying the mix of crumbling couscous and crunchy coleslaw with tender meat and fruity overtones.
Making waves in the culinary world
Passionate about food from a young age, it was a classic case of love at first sight when I first set my eyes on what would become Biffen’s Kitchen during a trip to my favourite childhood holiday destination. After successfully pitching my idea to the owners, I quit my 9-5 job in marketing and moved to Croyde to begin my next adventure. A year later and I’m still hooked, I love my new active lifestyle, and I can’t wait to bring the next wave of surf-inspired street food to Croyde for 2020.
